About
Author, game creator, and worldbuilder from Texas.
More than twenty years in IT, an adjunct professor, and a lifetime spent inventing worlds, cultures, and languages.
I'm Jonathan Brady Wood — an author, game creator, and worldbuilder from Texas, and I've spent my whole life inventing new worlds, cultures, and languages.
After a massive stroke in 2024, I set out on an adventure of the mind — building an entire world from the ground up, as much to rebuild what the stroke had taken as to give myself something to heal toward. Over the next year, one page at a time, that world became Chronicles of Disēlon.
For more than twenty years I've worked in computer programming and IT, and for over five years I've taught as an adjunct professor at DeVry University across the Bachelor of Computer Information Systems program. I hold a master's in Information Systems Technology and a bachelor's in Computer Crime Scene Investigation — so if the magic of Disēlon feels like it runs on rules and systems, that's probably why.
I grew up on epic fantasy like Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, and Disēlon is my attempt to build a world with that same depth, history, and sense of scale. When I'm not writing or building games, you'll usually find me outdoors — camping, exploring, and chasing the next adventure.
Chronicles of Disēlon: Book One is my debut novel — and only the beginning.
